Patient Safety Week 2011

12-18 September: ‘It starts with me’

Patient Safety Week 2011 is taking place from the 12th to the 18th of September.

The theme this year is ‘It starts with me’ in order to recognise the role each and every one of us plays, and the difference we can all make to safer care.

In the coming weeks we will be promoting activities for you to take part in during Patient Safety Week, which are designed to acknowledge the importance of the individual and their role in patient safety, and share learning and good practice.

For example there will be a series of interactive online Webinars on patient safety topics which will be hosted by experts with opportunities for sharing and discussion.

Tell us your plans

As with previous Patient Safety Weeks we want to encourage individuals and organisations in healthcare to take the opportunity to raise awareness about patient safety and celebrate their achievements.

We have set up an area in our online forum for you to share your plans and ideas for this year, click here to access.

Twitter users can also tweet their plans and ideas by using the hashtag #ptsafetyweek – we would love you tweet during the week so that we get it trending! You can also follow our Director @SuzetteWoodward

For some ideas and inspiration on what to do in your organisation why not take a look at the stories from last year on the 2010 webpage and also last year’s online forum.

We will keep you regularly informed on how plans are developing across the country for Patient Safety Week.
